We would love to hear from you!

It is our vision to be a provider of ideas, best-practice products,
and best-practice systems that provide down-to-earth solutions
to real-world problems.
Our purpose is to save lives and property by offering practical, cost-
effective solutions.
With today's technology, it is easy to build systems that produce more
data than is really useful. The acquisition and analysis of this massive
amount of data is not easy. Maintenance of complex systems is costly
and may not be justified. Therefore, the human mind, the most useful
data system, is not used effectively.
We believe in the simple systems using simple electronics. These can
be maintained by non-experts for adequate function in the field.
Fred Marshall is a senior member of IEEE and has over 40 years of
electrical and mechanical engineering experience in the tele-
communications field. He brings a vast knowledge of cabling
to the team. In addition, he is very no-nonsense and is
committed to coming up with solutions that actually work in the
real world.
Fred is also familiar with the public interest as president of Bayou
Telephone. Bayou is a small, family-owned business providing plain
old telephone service to approximately 40 rural customers near
Stephensville, LA. Read more about Bayou here.
He has a breadth of other experience as well, including specialty
telecom tools, microwave satellite setup and installation, and storage
battery systems.
Christa Marshall is our wonderful webmaster! She is a programmer
who started out as a petroleum engineer. She worked for Texaco
and Rosewood Resources as a production and reservoir engineer for
a total of 5 years.
She is handling all of the documentation (web site, catalog, other
printed documents) and some of the other administrative duties.
She is also assisting on the programming of the controller unit.
Bob Marshall
is a design engineer with analog, RF, power, digital,
software, and system design skills. He obtained high-volume ADSL and
ethernet design experience while at Cisco Systems. While at Motorola,
he designed outdoor, environmentally hardened, cellular base stations,
including lightning protection. He also has experience designing and
operating remote systems. He is a senior member of IEEE.
Late one night after an IEEE meeting, James Mercier of TxDOT
brought up a problem that they were trying to resolve. On the way
home, Bob had a bright idea. Bob then submitted the patent for
what is now known as the spindle anchor. Practical Technology,
LLC, is manufacturing it under license from him.
